Open Letter: Who I Am—A Christian Mystic Seeking More

To everyone who wonders what it means to carry the word Christian with a spirit of mystery and devotion, this letter is for you.

I am a Christian mystic.
Not because I have all the answers, nor because I claim to live perfectly.
But because I am a seeker—a pilgrim on a path that leads me deeper into the heart of God.
A journey that is intimate, personal, and alive.

My faith is not a label or a set of rules. It is a living, breathing relationship—one that shapes how I see the world, how I love others, and how I care for myself.

I understand that when I say “Christian,” some may pause.
Perhaps because of painful experiences, judgment, or confusion.
Or because the word has been misunderstood or misused.
I hear that. I honor that.

But being a Christian mystic means I don’t stop at what’s visible or easy.
I seek to know God beyond doctrine and dogma.
I listen for God’s whisper in the quiet moments.
I wrestle with doubt, wrestle with questions, and find peace in the mystery.

My journey includes both ancient Scripture and the language of the soul.
I believe healing is both physical and spiritual.
I honor practices that connect me with God’s creation, with my body, and with my spirit.
I believe God is present in the tangible and the unseen.

I’m not here to convince or convert.
I’m here to live authentically in this calling, to meet people where they are, and to show love—even when I don’t fully understand.

If you have felt out of place in spiritual conversations—whether because of faith or lack of it—you are not alone.
There is space here for your questions, your story, and your own journey toward the divine, however you see it.

This is who I am:
A Christian, yes—but more deeply, a mystic who longs to be known and to know God intimately.
A person who values honesty over performance, relationship over religion, and love over labels.

If that resonates with you, let us walk this path together with grace, curiosity, and open hearts.

With respect and hope,
Deborah Colleen Rose
